Nashville, Tennessee: A City in Reparation

From my trip to Kentucky.
On the way home, we stopped at Nashville.

Oh, how I yearn for summer

I was going through my photo albums on iPhoto and saw these and thought about how much I missed the beach. I cant wait to go back!

This is actually fireworks, I just moved my camera around in weird ways! IT TURNED OUT SO COOL! (Please see quote at very bottom of blog)

These pictures were taken last summer ('09) during our trip to SanDestin.
I think that the last on is cool just because it was the reddest that I have ever seen the moon... The photo (taken from my iPhone) doesn't do it justice.

Zoey Brooke . . . God's great present to our family

I came home yesterday from school and this sweet little girl  is what was waiting for me when I walked in

She got so excited when she saw me. It made me feel so warm and special. She has been the center of attention since she was born and she is so spoiled that it's crazy!

We love her.

Blogging

Well, I officially have a blog. I will admit... I sort of like it. I started working on it today and finished it today. I don't get a whole lot of extra time [with nursing school and the wife] so I had to work fast. I promise that I will try to keep my blog updated at least once a month. I don't figure on a whole lot of people viewing this blog, but if you are reading this then I suppose you viewed it after all. Thank you. I made this so that I could -I am not really married, by the way -  yea, so I could post my photos. I really enjoy photography. It has become a passion of mine. I hope that if you look at my photos, they speak to you as more than just pictures, but as parts of different stories, captured. Each photo has much that it wants to say to its viewer. I hope that you can see them and interpret what they are saying the way I do. I came up with the name, Urban Silver Salt, because in the 1700's a man named J. H. Schulze observed that a mixture of silver nitrate and chalk darkened on exposure to light. Thus, the photograph came into existence. The process of making the photograph was changed and refined many times. In the early 1800's, the quality was improved by using a new type of salt called sodium thiosulfate to wash off the unexposed silver nitrate. The two chemicals bonded together creating "silver salt," which is still used today in radiology for things such as X-Rays. I though it was pretty cool.
So, I have finished my first blog and I am going to put up a few family photos, then, I am going to bed.
Thanks for stopping by,
M.R.
